AMERIKA ART

Kerupa Flow

Japan

Kerupa Flow, an artist from Japan, shares with us about her Amerika Art installation.

When I asked Kerupa to summarize what her belief surrounding the AfterLife was, she stated, “A world without me, the world I’m going to? I think they are both different. My afterlife is something inside of me now.”

She further explained her vision for her installation as, “The image of the next life is multi-layered. It seems to be the same with the layers of my current life.”

One of the most intimate interactions one can get with an artist, is to undergo a tour with her or him of their installation. Here’s Kerupa’s Tour:

Floor 1: Obsession, pain, and perhaps even stupidity were one aspect of living sublime. But that’s over. The first layer is the world behind.

Floor2: A little further up, there is the afterlife as seen by humanity as living beings. Babies of all colors and thoughts of them. Strange floors and walls are what I feel about “subjective.”

Floor 3: The lotus pond in the heavens is just quietly there, absorbing quiet thoughts, no color or any color. There is death as the end of suffering.

Kerups shares with us the most important area in her build is to her as the first and second layers can come and go. It’s not that easy, though. I am a suffering individual and a member of mankind. So, the afterlife is also felt as a layer.

When viewing her creation, Kerupa Flow hopes that each visitor  is blessed with “May quiet flowers bloom somewhere in your multi-layer.”
